Glean
Privacy Policy
Welcome to Glean (the “App”), operated by Maverix Agency OÜ (“we”, “us”, or “our”). We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting it. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
1. Information We Collect
The App may collect limited personal and technical information needed to provide core functionality.
Information you provide / create in the App:
- Optional profile details you choose to enter (display name, gender preference, avatar/memoji selection).
- Sermon content you create: audio recordings, imported audio/video files, titles, bookmarks/timestamps, personal notes, chat messages, and checklist interaction state.
- Optional Bible translation preference and language preferences for translation features.
- Optional push notification permission on your device.
Account and identity (Firebase Authentication):
- We use Google Firebase Authentication to create and maintain an anonymous account with a unique user identifier (UID).
- We do not require email-and-password registration inside the App for the organic App Store flow.
- Your UID is used to store sermons, notes, chats, preferences, device tokens, and subscription entitlement state in our backend.
Automatically collected:
- Device and diagnostics data (app version, device model, OS version, crash/diagnostic logs).
- Basic usage/analytics events (feature usage, interactions, timestamps).
- Purchase and subscription state via Apple App Store and Adapty.
- Push notification token (FCM / APNs) if you allow notifications, used only to deliver App-related messages (for example, when sermon generation is ready).
- Attribution and analytics data via AppsFlyer (and related measurement), including advertising attribution and campaign performance analysis where permitted.
2. Audio Recordings and Sermon Content (Important for Review)
Where audio goes after upload:
- When you record or import a sermon, the App uploads the audio file to our backend API (
POST /sermons). - Audio files are stored on our VPS (local disk) — not Firebase Storage.
- Our application server is located in Gdańsk, Poland (EU).
- Derived text artifacts (transcript, summary, verses, practical steps, notes, chat) are stored in our backend so you can reopen them later.
- For playback, the App may temporarily cache audio on your device. Sharing/export happens only when you choose Share.
- Playback may use a time-limited signed URL (approximately 6 hours). That expiry applies to the playback link only — not to how long we keep the audio file itself.
How long audio is kept (retention):
- There is no fixed auto-delete TTL for audio files.
- Audio is retained while the related sermon and your account exist, so library, playback, chat, and notes can work.
- If you delete a sermon (
DELETE /sermons/{id}), associated audio for that sermon is deleted. - If you delete your account (Settings → Delete account /
DELETE /me), all of your sermon audio is deleted along with related account data (see §8). - We do not sell your sermon audio.
3. AI Processing (OpenAI)
Sermon processing is orchestrated on our server and uses OpenAI as a processor:
- OpenAI Whisper — speech-to-text transcription. For this step we send the raw audio file to OpenAI.
- OpenAI GPT — text generation for summary, structured insights, practical steps, translation helpers, and chat. After transcription, text (not raw audio) is sent to GPT for these features.
According to OpenAI’s API data-usage policies (as applicable to our API use): request data is not used to train OpenAI models by default, and may be retained by OpenAI only for a short period under OpenAI’s own policies for abuse monitoring and service reliability. See OpenAI’s privacy/API documentation for the current details.
AI output can contain errors. It is provided for personal study assistance and is not pastoral, medical, or professional advice.
4. Push Notifications
The App may send push notifications related to sermon processing (for example, “Your sermon is ready”), account/service notices, and product messages.
You can disable notifications at any time in iOS Settings, or manage the in-App Notifications preference (which opens system settings when permission must be changed).
5. Purchases and Payments
Premium access is sold as auto-renewable subscriptions through the Apple App Store. Payments are processed by Apple. We do not collect or store full payment card details.
What Premium unlocks: an active Premium subscription unlocks the full App experience — recording/importing sermons, AI processing pipeline, sermon library and detail screens, translation features, sermon chat and global chat, notes, and related premium-gated product features. Without Premium, the App presents a paywall and product APIs remain gated.
Current primary offerings shown in the App (Adapty paywall / placement main_paywall):
- Weekly Subscription: $7.99 USD/week (
dev.glean.weekly), with a 3-day free trial for first-time eligible users where offered. - Monthly Subscription: $14.99 USD/month (
dev.glean.monthly), with a 3-day free trial for first-time eligible users where offered. - Annual Subscription: $29.99 USD/year (
dev.glean.annual), with a 3-day free trial for first-time eligible users where offered.
Additional App Store subscription products that may be offered via Adapty remote configuration / paywall experiments (same Premium access level; price/SKU can change without an App update):
- Weekly $9.99 (
dev.glean.weekly.9.99) - Monthly $4.99 (
dev.glean.monthly.4.99) - Monthly $7.99 (
dev.glean.monthly.7.99) - Annual Special Offer $23.99 (
dev.glean.annual.offer), with a 3-day free trial where offered
Actual prices may vary by country/region, local currency, taxes, and App Store pricing rules. The final price and trial terms are always shown in the App / Apple purchase sheet before you confirm.
Subscription status and entitlements are managed via Adapty and our backend. Adapty may process pseudonymous user identifiers (including Firebase UID as customer user id), purchase metadata, and limited device-level data for purchase validation, paywall delivery, analytics, fraud prevention, and service reliability.
Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period in your Apple ID subscription settings. Canceling auto-renew stops future billing; access typically continues until the end of the already-paid period.
6. How We Use Information
- To provide and operate the App (account, sermons, processing, chat, notifications).
- To process purchases and validate Premium entitlement.
- To improve reliability, fix bugs, and understand feature usage.
- To measure marketing attribution and campaign performance where allowed (AppsFlyer), including after App Tracking Transparency consent on iOS where required.
- To comply with law and enforce our Terms.
7. Data Security
We use industry-standard safeguards, including encryption in transit and access controls, to protect data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
8. Sharing Your Information
We do not sell your personal data.
We may share limited data with service providers strictly to operate the App, including:
- Google Firebase (Authentication, database/related infrastructure, Cloud Messaging / FCM)
- Our VPS hosting in Gdańsk, Poland (application server and sermon audio storage on local disk)
- OpenAI (Whisper transcription of raw audio; GPT text processing for insights/chat)
- Adapty for subscriptions, paywalls, entitlement management, and related purchase metadata
- AppsFlyer for analytics, fraud prevention, advertising attribution, and marketing performance measurement
- Apple for in-app purchases and related platform services
- Authorities where required by law
9. Your Rights and Account Deletion
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or port your data, and to withdraw consent where applicable.
In the App you can delete your account via Settings → Delete account (DELETE /me). This deletes:
- Sermons and associated audio files
- Notes, chats, and related content
- Device / push registrations
- Your Firebase Authentication user
- Your Adapty profile associated with the account
Deletion starts immediately (account tombstone + Firebase Auth removal). Remaining files and records are cleaned up in the background, usually within a few minutes. Legal retention exceptions may apply where required by law.
To exercise rights or ask questions, contact us at info@maverix.agency.
10. Children's Privacy
The App is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13.
11. Third-Party Services
The App integrates with third-party services such as Firebase, Adapty, AppsFlyer, Apple, and OpenAI. These services may process data under their own terms and privacy policies.
12. AppsFlyer Attribution and Tracking
We use AppsFlyer to measure installs, campaign performance, and in-app events. AppsFlyer may process device identifiers, attribution metadata, and event data for analytics, fraud prevention, advertising attribution, and marketing performance measurement.
Where required by applicable law (including on iOS), tracking used for advertising attribution is performed only where user consent has been granted through Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt (or equivalent).
13. International Data Transfers
Our primary application server and audio storage are in the EU (Gdańsk, Poland). Some processors (for example Firebase, Adapty, AppsFlyer, OpenAI, Apple) may process data in other countries. Where required, we apply appropriate safeguards under applicable data protection laws.
14. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates become effective when posted in the App, in App Store Connect metadata, or on our website.
